Import a Spiir file into BeCleva
Last reviewed August 17, 2026
If you managed to download an export from Spiir before the app closed, it can still go into BeCleva. One file. A list you look through. Confirm. Then the rows land in the budgets.
If you can't find the file, there is nothing to pull in. You start empty — and that's fine. The rest of this page is for you if the file is still somewhere on the computer.
Find the file
Spiir's export menu is gone, so you can't fetch a new one. The file is where you put it in May or June: Downloads, an email to yourself, iCloud, Google Drive. Search for «spiir», .csv, .json or .zip. A lot of people have it and have forgotten they have it.
BeCleva reads CSV, Excel and JSON. If you have both CSV and JSON, take JSON — it more often includes main and sub categories, so the supermarket doesn't land as one long flat list. Unzip a ZIP first. A CSV from your online bank can work too, but it almost never includes Spiir's categories. Then you'll fix more afterwards.
How to pull it in
Create an account on becleva.com with email or Google, and pick the budget you want to start in — typically the month you're sitting in. You don't have to set up the whole year first.
On the budget, Import transactions sits in the side panel. Pick the file. Nothing is saved yet. You get a list grouped by category: groceries, transport, the fixed ones. Uncheck what shouldn't come along — an internal transfer, an old account, something you would never have budgeted for.
When the list looks right, confirm. BeCleva creates budgets for the months the file covers, if they don't already exist. A large file can run a few minutes in the background. You don't have to stare at the screen.
If the file was already there, this is often a quarter of an hour. What takes time is finding it.
The categories won't all land clean
We bring Spiir's categories along when they're in the file, and map them to BeCleva's. It isn't perfect. A streaming service can still land in electricity, and custom names from Spiir you may have to fix. That's expected — not a sign the import failed. During import your rules, the file's categories, shared learning and AI run.
When the rows are in, open the spending overview and see whether the month looks like what you remember. Go through the subscription list one evening — that's often where you find what you'd forgotten. You can connect a bank later if you want. It isn't required to use the app.
Everything is open during launch. We'll say so before a price appears.
Pull the file in
Account, budget, Import transactions in the side panel. No file? Start empty — that's a start too.
