Budget app for Android and web in 2026: your options after Spiir
Last reviewed July 26, 2026.
When Spiir closed on June 8, 2026, hundreds of thousands of Danes suddenly lost their budgeting app. New alternatives have appeared since — but several launched iPhone first, leaving Android and browser users with fewer options than the headlines suggest.
This guide is for Android users and anyone who wants to manage their budget on a real screen. You'll get an honest overview of the options in 2026 and a checklist of what to look for before moving your finances into a new app.

The situation after Spiir
Spiir worked on both iPhone and Android and had a web version — making it the whole household's app regardless of phone brand. Several of the new Danish alternatives chose a different order: iPhone first, with Android and web 'coming'. A fair priority for a new product, but it doesn't help if your phone is a Samsung or you plan your month at a computer.
The consequence as of July 2026: for Android and browser users, the real selection of fully available Danish budgeting apps is smaller than App Store coverage suggests. The options that do exist, however, are mature enough to take over what Spiir did.
What to look for
Does it run on your devices — today?
'Coming soon' is not a platform. Check that the app can actually be installed or opened on Android and in a browser now, not in a future version.
Can your history come along — and leave again?
Can the app import your Spiir export or files from your online bank? And just as important after the Spiir experience: can you export your data again if the app shuts down one day?
Does it work without a bank connection?
Open Banking is convenient, but you shouldn't be forced to connect your bank to use the app. Manual entry and file import are a freedom — and a privacy choice.
Real budgets or just an overview?
A spending overview tells you what happened. A budget helps you decide what should happen. Check the app can do both.
How does it make money?
Free apps also pay for servers and bank access. An open freemium model is easier to trust than 'free for now'.
Your options on Android and web (July 2026)
These are the Danish and Denmark-friendly options that actually work on Android or in a browser today — described soberly:
BeCleva
Web + Android. Real monthly budgets, CSV/Excel/JSON import (incl. Spiir), receipt scanning, subscription tracking and AI insights. Works fully without a bank connection; Open Banking is optional.
Lunar Budget
Android and iPhone app, but the budgeting features are built for Lunar customers and their accounts. If your bank is elsewhere, the value is limited.
Lommebudget
Free and fully manual budgeting with no bank connection. Fine for the simple case, but no automatic categorisation, import or cross-account overview.
Spendee
International app with Android and web. Bank sync for Danish banks requires a paid plan via a third party, and the app isn't built for Danish finances (categories, language, MobilePay patterns).
Bliss Budget
Danish Spiir successor with Open Banking — but iPhone only as of July 2026. Android and web are announced; keep an eye out if you want to compare once they land.
How BeCleva works on Android and web
Web, Android and browser on iPhone — same account, same data, today.
BeCleva is built browser first: the entire app — budgets, spending overview, import, reports — runs in any modern browser on desktop, Android and iPhone, and is also available as an Android app. Your data follows your account, so you can start at the computer and continue on your phone.
On the phone you get an app layout with bottom navigation, dark mode and quick access to today's spending. On the big screen you get the full picture: monthly charts, categories, month-to-month comparison and Excel/PDF export for when you need the numbers elsewhere.
If you connect your bank via Open Banking (optional), transactions are categorised automatically, subscriptions are discovered, and on Android you can add home screen widgets with balance and 'safe to spend today'.
Get started in ten minutes
- 1
Open becleva.com in your browser — phone or computer — and create a free account with email or Google.
- 2
If you have a Spiir export or a CSV from your online bank, import it from the budget's side panel. Otherwise: create your first monthly budget and enter the fixed items.
- 3
Review the import preview, confirm — and watch the spending overview assemble. The rest (subscriptions, receipts, bank connection) can wait until later.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Danish budget app for Android after Spiir?
Yes. BeCleva works on Android and in any browser today, with budgets, Spiir history import, receipt scanning and subscription tracking. Several other Danish alternatives are iPhone first as of July 2026.
Can I use a budget app in the browser instead of installing one?
Yes — BeCleva is built browser first, so the entire app works on desktop, Android and iPhone without installation. Handy when you want to plan the month on a big screen.
Do I have to connect my bank to get started?
No. You can enter data manually or import files (CSV, Excel, JSON — incl. Spiir exports). Bank connection via Open Banking is optional.
What does it cost?
Everything in BeCleva is free during launch. Pricing will be announced well before a subscription is introduced.
