BeCleva vs. Bliss Budget: an honest comparison of the two Spiir successors
Last reviewed July 26, 2026 — Bliss details from blissbudget.dk as of the same date.
After Spiir closed on June 8, 2026, two Danish apps have emerged as the most obvious successors: BeCleva and Bliss Budget. Both are built for Danish personal finance, both can import your old Spiir export, and both promise an automatic overview of your spending.
We make BeCleva, so we are obviously not neutral. But we believe an honest comparison serves you better than a sales pitch: below you'll find the differences in platforms, budgets, import and business model — including the areas where Bliss is strongest today.

The two apps in short
BeCleva

Built around real monthly budgets with main and sub categories, CSV/Excel/JSON import (including Spiir exports), receipt scanning, subscription tracking and AI insights. Works fully with manual data and imports — bank connection via Open Banking is optional.
Bliss Budget
Danish app launched around Spiir's closure in 2026. Connects to Danish banks via Open Banking and MitID, with AI categorisation, subscription tracking and receipt matching. As of July 2026, Bliss is live on iPhone; Android and web are announced as coming. The app is free to use.

Platforms: iPhone, Android and web
BeCleva: web + Android today. Bliss: iPhone today — Android and web announced (July 2026).
The biggest practical difference right now is where the apps run. Bliss launched iPhone first — Android and web are announced but, as of July 2026, not available. If you have an iPhone and want an app in your pocket today, Bliss is a real option.
BeCleva is built the other way around: the app runs in any browser — on desktop, Android and iPhone — and is available as an Android app. That also means you can plan the month on a big screen and carry the overview on your phone afterwards.
If you use Android, or want to work with your finances in a browser, BeCleva is in practice the only one of the two that works today.
Budgets, import and your data
Both apps give you an automatic spending overview. The difference is what sits on top: BeCleva is built around real monthly budgets — amounts per category, progress and month-to-month comparison. Bliss primarily describes overview, insights and saving tips.
On import, both are ready for Spiir refugees. BeCleva reads CSV, Excel and JSON — including files that don't come from Spiir, such as exports from your online bank or your own spreadsheet. If you didn't export from Spiir before it closed, BeCleva still lets you build history via file import or manual entry.
Your data can leave again too: BeCleva exports to Excel and PDF, so you are never locked in. That's the kind of detail you only appreciate when an app shuts down one day — like Spiir did.
Pricing and business model
Bliss is free as of July 2026 and has not published a payment model. Attractive right now, but worth considering: bank connections, AI and hosting cost money, so a free app eventually needs revenue — subscriptions, partnerships or something else.
BeCleva is transparent about the model: everything is free during launch, and pricing will be announced well before a subscription is introduced. The plan is a free tier plus a Premium subscription — no ads, no selling of data.
Neither app shows ads or sells your data — but always ask a free service how it plans to make money.
